Nelson Construction & Development renovated an existing grocery facility to house three big-box retail tenants. Nobbies was the first tenant, taking approximately 40,000 square feet of the space.
Many challenges were overcome to modify the use of the grocery facility for multi-tenant retail, including constructing three new storefront entrances with cultured stone columns and arched steel canopies.
The project approach was fast-tracked and much of the work was completed prior to the final design. The renovation of the shell building took six months to construct and the Nobbies tenant improvement schedule was three months.
