FeatherStone Senior Living is Nelson’s newest assisted living facility to Iowa City and opened in Summer of 2024. It is approximately 130,000 total square feet and includes 120 apartment homes for assisted living and memory care residents. The new community is adjacent to Hickory Hill Park on the Northeast side of town.
As part of our commitment to the environment and the conservation efforts of the park, Nelson made a 38-acre land donation to Iowa City, the largest donation of land in the history of the park. That land will be preserved forever and incorporated into Hickory Hill Park for everyone to enjoy.
Our assisted living and memory care residents have access to the park and the serenity and connection to nature it provides, while also being a short drive to downtown Iowa City and the University of Iowa, and close to many other amenities seniors want.
