Miesblock

Miesblock is a three-story mixed-use office and retail building in the core of downtown Des Moines. A street level restaurant space incorporates full height windows that allow visitors to engage with the street activity, and tall windows on the upper floors afford tenants expansive views of downtown Des Moines.

Lying adjacent to the historic Mies van der Rohe Catholic Pastoral Center, a perforated metal veil unifies the upper floors of Miesblock along its most public southern faces, and in a nod to it’s neighbors history, incorporates themes referencing the Bauhaus.
