Nelson Development successfully developed 70 market rate apartments in the former L&L Insulation Building in dowtown Des Moines, Iowa.
The project utilized the industrial history and construction of the building to create apartments with 10’-12’ ceilings with exposed bell columns and concrete ceilings and floors. Parking for the building is located underground and at the first floor.
The project construction started in Septemeber 2009 with completion in October 2010. The total project cost was over $11 million. The design team consisted of INVISION Architecture and ERG Civil Engineers.
